Delete Your Account

Effective May 11, 2026

If you'd like to permanently delete your Nilove account, here's exactly how — and what gets removed. Operated by Nilove (the developer of the Nilove app on the App Store and Google Play).

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

This is the fastest way. Once you confirm, your account and personal data are removed immediately.

  1. Open the Nilove app on your phone.
  2. Tap your profile icon → Account Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm the prompt. Your account is deleted immediately.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't sign in or no longer have the app installed, email us and we'll do it for you. Send a request from the email address linked to your account (or from any address along with the phone number you used to sign up) to:

support@nilove.app

Subject line: Delete my Nilove account. Include the phone number you signed up with so we can verify it's your account. We process every request within 7 days, usually within 24 hours.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted (whether from inside the app or by emailing us), we permanently remove the following:

  • Your profile (first name, last name, birthday, gender, region, heritage, religion, observance, languages, bio, occupation, prompt answers)
  • Your photos (both the database records and the underlying image files in our storage)
  • Your likes (both sent and received)
  • Your matches
  • All messages you sent and received
  • Your blocked-user list
  • Your discovery preferences
  • Your push-notification tokens
  • Your subscription history (the app's record; the App Store / Google Play also retain their own purchase records separately, which you can manage from your Apple ID or Google account)
  • Support and help-community messages you submitted
  • Your authentication record (phone number)

What we keep, and for how long

We retain a limited set of data even after deletion, only where necessary for safety, legal, or operational reasons:

  • Safety records (up to 7 years). If another user reported your account before deletion, we keep the report in an anonymized form so we can investigate patterns of abuse. Your identifying information is severed from the report.
  • Encrypted database backups (up to 30 days). Our backend (Supabase) keeps automatic backups for disaster recovery. Your deleted data may remain in these backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten in the normal backup rotation. We don't access backups except to restore from a service outage.
  • Financial records (up to 7 years). Tax and accounting laws require us to keep aggregated, anonymized records of subscription transactions. These records do not contain your name, phone, or profile information.

Outside of those three categories, your data is gone — irreversibly and permanently.

Deleting only some of your data

Today, Nilove only supports full account deletion. If you want to update or remove individual pieces of information without deleting your entire account, you can:

  • Edit any profile field at any time from Profile → Edit Profile.
  • Remove individual photos from Profile → Edit Profile → Photos.
  • Unmatch and delete a conversation from inside the chat.
  • Unblock a user from Account Settings → Blocked users.

For any other request — for example, asking us to remove a specific piece of information — email support@nilove.app and we'll help.
